1. I'M GRADING FOR MY NEXT BELT IN TWO DAYS!!!! on Saturday to be precise. I'm obviously freaking out a little but I know my syllabus very well and the pre-grading was quite good. I think I'm genuinely going to enjoy myself instead of panic like I did the last time. I was so broken I had to stop training on tuesday. I've been trainning EXTREmely hard so I really hope I do well.
2. I was very upset about a few things at the pre-grading and it helped me a lot during my final Circle/V attacks. My circle went very well and the sensei let it go on a little longer because he was enjoying watching it he told me
Let's hope someone upsets me on friday evening!
3. I got my wallet and phone stolen at the post pre-grading festivities in a pub in central London. Considering I'd already gotten my wallet stolen in January, I was very upset. It especially sucked because I had thus no more alarm clock and didn't wake up on monday and tuesday morning.
4.Lots of things went pretty wrong the whole beginning of the week and right now I've got 2 on my account which is really bad as I can't be overdrawn with my type of account. This has gotten me to realize the importance of all the things you take for granted: I'm in good health, I have a roof to sleep under, I've got wonderful friends and I've still got my talents. I had to kick myself pretty hard to realize all this after bad tripping all of monday and tuesday but I've been through a lot worse in my life though I don't think I've ever lived with so little.
5. My horrifying roomate put his gross washcloth (which he has NEVER washed, kind of beats the point eh..) on top of my bathtowel to dry, I actually screamed out loud... I'm not a hygiene freak but the guy is just atrocious
I can smell him through the whole flat when he comes home...
6. Holy Jesus! This girl in my drama group said "oh yeah, the guy called Fraud or something...". Talk about a Freudian slip... Had my jaw been detachable, I think it would have fallen to the floor. I don't want to be condescending but to have done higher studies, be in your early twenties and not have ever heard of Sigmund Freud is quite scary...
7. "Logocentrism, also called phallogocentrism, is a term used in Deconstruction to refer to the perceived tendency of Western thought to locate the center of any discourse within the logos (speech and words) and the phallus (embodiments representing the male genitalia)". This movement is really interesting and it questions the binary logic of our society...
8. "If visibility equalled representational power then half-naked young white women would be ruling the world"-Peggy Phelan. I think this quote is really fantastic.
9. I'll illustrate the above with these pictures; I'm sure you can tell how much I love my naked body. It makes you wonder a lot about the influence of the naked female body in today's society especially on this site...
