Hi Oi, Hola, Salut, and Здравствуй Everyone!
Sorry I’ve been back to my ghostly ways again lately - I’ve been dealing with my health issues and driving myself to finish my current project so I can get on to others, as I am now SERIOUSLY behind schedule.
However, I am FINALLY done with making the video for my latest song, which will serve as my debut single. There’s a part of me that would have liked to have done this much earlier in life, but circumstances did not allow for it.
This song was inspired by a post on Twitter by my favorite Doom Metal drummer, “Whiplash” Megan Mullins. That Tweet can be viewed here: Megan Laments a world without Metal. There was just something about Megan that impressed me when I saw High Priestess live in 2018; her presence onstage, her impish smile, and her sheer vivacious energy blew me away. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to chat with her on Twitter, and she has impressed me even further, to the point of inspiring me to do something I had always wanted to do, but thought was too impractical to achieve: learn to play the drums. Up until now, I have been using electronic drum tracks and compact, portable digital kits for my music, but when I read the Tweet above, something told me it was time for me to go all the way and essentially become a one girl band. Not like a songwriter with an acoustic guitar, but a solo artist capable of playing multiple instruments and properly managing the recording and distribution process.
I’ll be releasing the complete song and video as soon as I negotiate the legal obstacles, but in the meantime, I wanted to ask a small favor of you: as a means of giving inspiration back to the AMAZING woman who inspired me. If you could find it in your heart to either a. post a supportive comment on her Twitter page if you use that platform, or, if you enjoy Heavy Metal, please download one of the albums High Priestess has released over the last 2 years to show your support for the musicians like her that not only are prevented from performing by COVID-19, but whose income has drastically been affected.
