It will find you when you least expect it. Everyone likes the chase in a relationship, as soon as one stops the game the other gets board. I'm more into a girl I meet that says she hates me then the girl that wants to hang out right away....lol!
The fact that this one guy said he'd wait for you after you made it clear there is no chance is very very creepy. A mature man would cut their losses and move on even it means killing any friendship that went with it.
I know what you mean about companionship. I could totally use some after my 5-year lack of it. Now that I find time on my hands after my 3-years of 2 jobs and no time ended... well, it feels that much more lonely now that I have the time to breathe and think for myself! Sometimes I wonder if I should just go out and find a new 2nd job so I can go back to avoiding societal norms and just be what I've unfortunately gotten used to after so long.
I know what you mean, I just moved to Boston and I know no one, it's pretty lonely.
And at least you're honest. I was in the same situation he's in but the (I should say) lady kept giving me hope. No good. He should cut his losses for sure, waiting for someone is a useless and terrible idea regardless.
