Damnit was really hoping to meet you before you split. Sorry it didn't work out but at least you figured that out early on. As for your two examples, A is obviously a serious dork who never had a chance back home...wait a minute, that sounds oddly familiar. Only difference is, I wasn't such a prat about it. I'd like to think he'll grow up, but doubt it. As for B, yes, I've met those too, valuing gaijin males only for their seed. I wonder, does she want the commitment of raising a bicultural child, or is it just a fashion accessory? Sadly, I suspect (as I imagine you do too) it's the latter.
Anyway, I know there are lots of stereotypes going both ways. I'm just looking for examples that might be useful in class of those my students might encounter while living abroad.
