Sorry to hear that. Take solace in knowing how important your comfort, companionship, and compassion was to him.

That was something I realized in therapy a long time ago: as a small child, I outlived all of our pets. By the time I was six or seven, I had dealt with the loss of four dogs, a bunny, some fish, and a few cats. But brothers or sisters, they were like siblings to me. And my parents weren't very good at dealing with a grieving child. Or at dealing with pets, obviously.

It is painful for those that love and are left behind. I think animals have a special place in God's creation and their lives and passing are right where they are supposed to be.

You have a caring heart. Do you extend that caring and forgiving love to yourself?

Excuse me while I go pop about 50 prozac...

Putty will NEVER die! He's gonna be the bionic wiener. Which will be ironic because I have a bionic wiener...

So sorry for you loss(es). The hurt is so much greater because you are their guardian and protector and god to them... they look at you with those innocent, yearning and confused eyes as if to say "can't you fix me?"

I got those when Putty was paralyzed from the spinal rupture and it kicked the wind out of me every time.

Hang in there kid. There is an animal heaven.
