I have never been much for parties or stuff like that on New Years Eve anyway....too many people, and way too many drunk people. We actually celebrated the new year on Dec. 21st, winter sosltice, and the "real" new years ever....we were asleep by 11!
wow that sounds almost as pathetic as the new year party i went to. we walk into the apartment and there's a card table in the middle of the doorway with a computer and modeling clay on it. there's about 7 people there not including the three of us. sure there was beer (which i dont drink). the people were all nice but what you would call the hollywood stereotypical gamer type, (awkward with slightly flattened affect). me and my housemate actually had more fun looking through their book collection than anything else. one of the guys sort of became our stalker for the night following us wherever we went, he was very sweet though and not creepy so it was okay.
the real fun began when i was looking through a box of DVD's and found a book of sexual positions for the year (one/day) that was conversation fodder for a while. basically me and my housemate were the party. eventually we peeled ourselves away and laughed the whole way home. but the whole night wasnt a complete loss because we saw "i am legend" before hand and had a champagne cocktail at the monkey bar. so thats my night in a nut shell.
and i think that was the most i have ever done on a new years eve so you are not alone in your curse
Wait hold up. I am still on the first one lol.
No go ahead and send them but your first one has a lot of ways of looking at this.
Do you want all of my weird thinking ways about it?
sure?
god do i love the mythology!
did you ever hear the norse myth about the origin of mead? it's pretty fascinating and relates to the production of what's called the Mead of Inspiration. something you might look into if you really want to let loose.
i almost killed myself one new years. i guess that's a roundabout way of saying that i totally empathize with having shitty new years sometimes.
the last two have been pretty good for me, though. maybe this year was a warm up for next year. hell, at least there was alcohol and people for this one. next time it'll be the lupercalia you're envisioning.
