I've never seen the show, but this has prompted me to do a little searching.

And RAD on the tattoo aspect, I love it when a tattoo's explanation is unique to the person and not immediately recognizable to everyone else. Makes the pieces more intimate, like they carry extra weight. IMO, anyway wink

oh and BTW....when you say twin peaks aired 20 years ago....I feel really, really OLD. I remember when it first aired...does not seem that long ago for sure.
