i don't know if i am going to go to the Vegas Rockaround this month like i've been planning. it is $80 for the ticket alone. add hotel, gas, food and drink expenses and that leaves me with very little to buy the (rare) music that the vendors would be selling there. right now i feel i might be content just saving money and stopping by Amoeba in L.A. Wanna come???

I watched some previews for the upcoming "the real o.c." show on MTV, as it takes place at my old high school (laguna beach) and it looks horrible. i hope the show is just one big joke. if it is a serious drama i might throw up. will they show all the coke parties, the drinking during class, and all the other actions that fit the Bratty O.C. stereotype? i hope so.

actually,i was at one of those laguna beach parties a few days ago. a girl i met at my summer job invited me and, always hoping to meet some new folks with common backgrounds and interests (especially of the female persuasion) i foolishly decided to show up. it was pretty much how i imagined it. a bunch of rich stoners without a care/braincell in the world. All the guys wore sandals and needed to shave and the girls wore trashy (yet expensive) clothing, exposing their doomed-to-be leathery tanned skin and blinding bleached teeth. the only fun i had was watching some 35 year old beach bum pass out and roll down a hill. he cut his head and knuckles open and was bleeding everywhere. i didn't feel too bad as no one invited him or even knew him. also he said he had a terminal disease and that he would die in 6 months. he might just deserve to be as reckless as he was that night.
anyway....
