For the ladies BUT I read it anyway! Not to diminish the lady struggles, but it's also not uncommon for guys to feel that way too. You can be ridiculed for taking pride in your appearance, or for taking steps towards bettering it. For instance, I had acne up until 6 months ago (31!). And in having that, obviously I tried everything, but I also felt self conscious and wanted to cover it up. That's not something you talk about or want to admit to. Then there's the huge fitness trend now and the pressure to look a certain way. I was always pretty content within myself but when you're single, you start to look around at what other people have and what other people like and what you don't have. I'm definitely not saying that the whole celebrity and magazine and perfect everything culture isn't worse for women. But it sucks all-round, we just aren't expected to feel the same level of self consciousness about it. PS. Kudos for recognizing your best bits and loving them :)
