kye:
Predator. That is on your list, right? Best (and dodgiest) action flick out there.

Enjoy your movie day. I recently had a bad-action-movie flick day myself and it was awesome.
soobie:
Star Wars is almost 32 years old.
conjure:
Glad someone appreciated it smile

I't really moved me.

I blogged about it here: http://quasisensible.wordpress.com/2009/01/24/hope/
rizzo:
It makes me feel kinda old even though I know I'm not.
ponderch3rry:
Shoot 'em Up ftw!!!

Nothing like a bit of Clive Owen doing what he does best.

*hugs*

Hope you feel better soon sweetness, maybe it's something in the water...

If all else fails, you could try groping Robtastic a little bit tongue

Terminator 2 and Alien are anything but trashy - next time get The Running Man or something, that's trashy, not to mention 80's as shit.

I'm still not sure about the catch-up dinner - work has forgotten I exist and haven't had any luck finding other work so finances are a little tight right now. I'll do my best to scrape up some disposable cash before then, I really wanna see everyone again.
ardour:
Austin Powers 2 was '99. The original is even older.
'99 was a huge year for movies, I probably have more movies from '99 then from any other year (which might just be due to the fact I got a DVD player in '00)

Yeah, Alien isn't trashy, and not really an action movie either. Terminator 2 I'm not a huge fan of, but I wouldn't call it trashy... it's a little too self-important, takes it's self too seriously while being well made enough to not come off as trashy. Your millage may vary. I'd say Terminator would be a better choice, even though I think it's a much better movie, because it's got the low budget 1980s feel to it.

I'd suggest starting your journey with Total Recall and ending it with The 6th Day. Those would be great bookends, but that doesn't solve your Schwarzenegger problem.
kye:
Friendship accepted!

smile

Wow. I'm impressed with the list. T2 is one of my favourite movies ever, and I agree entirely, too much Arnie is just.. well, too much really.
I've not seen Vampire Hunter D, but looking at the other movies you watched in the same sitting, I think I should!

Great to meet you last night. I'm really interested to see this project that you're working on. Be sure to post it up when you're done.
cleverthings:
Everything you've said I completely agree with.

The author's a Mormon which explains several things. And the child, well, you'll see when you get there. The author tries to explain vampires and werewolves through genetics but she doesn't understand the scientific principles so it makes no sense. You'll laugh, seriously.

Another big problem is that NO-ONE IS DISCUSSING THESE BOOKS EXCEPT TEENS!!! And it's all: I love the books, how awesome, Edward is so HOT!!!!!!11111" etc etc and not any further discussion. I would actually be really happy if the books were placed on a reading list at high school because then people would discuss these things.
