Crispin Glover was an annoyingly obvious pick, in my opinion, and a bunch of people were batty for it, all puns intended.

I think Brokeback Mountain was swallowed whole by a fuckton of Oscar- and media-fueled hype, though I liked it when I finally got to see it a while back.
I dug him in that and Monster's Ball, and have little doubt that he can bring something interesting to The Dark Knight (fuck, I love that title!).
