My only real experience with the Lebanese people was when I was a teenager. I had a good friend who stayed at our apartment for a while. His name was Warton Baryur Nazarian. I think I've got the spelling right on his name 'cause I used his ID to play 18. He was a great guy and we used to laugh like crazy men. My only complaint about Naz (that was the name he used) is that he took my clean underwear out of my drawer and put his dirty ones back in. I ended up with a mean case of crablice. This was the only speedbump in an otherwise pleasant relationship. Please do not think I am putting this one failing on the heads of the fine Lebanese people however. They appear to have no history as underwear snatchers.
I also used to get some dynamite Lebanese hash.
Now on to Kahlil Gibran. You are correct about a discrepancy. If you check the Lebanese website that I link to you will see in his fascinating biography that at birth his name was spelled as Gibran Khalil Gibran. Upon immigration his name was mispelled as Kahlil Gibran. I was aware of this when I made up the link. However, Kahlil Gibran is the name all of his books were published under in the US and Europe. Since my aim is to spread the fruits of his labor and broaden his readership I decided to go with his published name. Eh?
I'm healing so fast. The antibitics are giving me the shits.
The doctors and I joked about me being a medical freak. They were really nice. Once he started talking about the rash NOT being oison ivy, and used the word "herpelations", I just about freaked out.
They gave me most of my meds for free, which rocked. The whole thing only cost me $130.
Shit got worse today, though, when my roommate's dog picked a fight with my pup, and they got into it. One of them bit my hand. It looks gnarly, but the antiobiotics and steroids that are raging through my system are helping me heal remarkably fast. The doggies are already kissing on each others' booboos and being sweet to each other. Theyre both really shy around me, though. They know I'm pissed and hurt. My roommate came flying home and iced my hand down and painted me up with liquid bandage.
see? i knew the hair would be hot. how cute! i need to find a no-hassle shorter style for immediately following the ceremony thingy. it's easier to do short if you have some curl or wave, i think, because it adds its own attitude. mine is stick straight and heavy.
well, i really don't want to leave sg, i just feel silly keeping this when i'm never on it. but it's not like i'm that strapped, and i'm sure i'll have more time soon. better to keep this account then cancel and have to start a new one later...
honeymoon... not exactly. we're going to drive down to my aunt's family's lake house for a couple days immediately after. nothing to do there really in october except veg and read and play pool. but it'll be nice to have some peace and quiet. if we can't hike, we;ll just stay in and watch movies or read or sleep or DO NOTHING. eventually, we might take a longer trip. if he gets a passport and we have enough saved up. why didn't you go anywhere? ever take a trip later?
but enough asskissing...
the hair is a little Joan Jett..
and a little like the cool shag Jane Fonda wore in "Klute"
