when i first got into online interaction, i would talk to all kinds of people
in chat rooms, on boards or on icq. but now i can't even bring myself
to start a substanial conversation with anyone.

i'm not one for meaningless conversation... idle chatter. but i'm not really a talkative person... around most. if i'm really comfortable with someone, i can go on and on.
but that's mostly random stuff because i'm not that serious of a person either...
if that makes any sense. i'd much rather be around a select few than a lot of people.
i guess i'm a private person... which explains my lack of friends.

Surprisingly enough I am a private person that hates some social interaction (jamie wouldn't be surprised by this I guess).

I think being isolated has gotten a bad wrap. As long as you are comfortable being that way rock it. If not, maybe you could join some clubs or get involved with something you never thought you would be able to do. Just some thoughts.

I'm getting the same way (I just moved to Baltimore from Texas). I was in a cab the other day and the driver guessed I wasn't from around here; I told him no, I wasn't, and he just kind of grinned and nodded. "You're quiet," he said, in a thick Russian accent. "Everyone around here just talks and talks." I've never understood how some people can do that....

Hey! I'll be in Newport News the weekend after Xmas, but I'll pretty much be confined to my folks' place. I'm really trying to save up for some traveling later this year, so I'll keep ya updated on that.
