There is nothing wrong about having a car. Let's face it, this is not a perfect world and havig a car is almost a must at least here in the US. In Europe things are different as the public transportation system is better and places are closer and not as far spread out as they are here.

When it's -30 (or any temp below zero) up here in Minneapolis I will get in my car and drive directly across the street to the grocery store. Does it waste gas? Yes. Is it slower than actually walking there? Yes. Does it save my body from turning into an icesickle and slipping into the street? Sure thing!

You could get a hybrid or something really small.
