i really don't know the answer to that. if i have my own business, am doing well, have a house etc... it just might be i'm glad i stayed working. if i'm in a non-tenure track position, poor, etc. it may be i wish i had stayed working. that seems like it might be a reality. i mean, what if i spent half the time it would take to go back to schol, to really hone my design skills? surely then, i would do well in my field. ?
