i gots one on my back and i plan in geting a sleve on my left arm and a few more on me back and two rotties on my right arm in honor of my dad
it's a mom thing you could be 50 and she would still give you shit
give your mum 5 years or so, took my dad about that to get used to the fact he had no control, and now i work an office job where he's the boss and i get away with shitloads of stuff (pretty much cause they cant function without me)
i also know alot of ppl that make alot more money than i do with alot more tattoos, just look at tattooists to begin with, shit they can make over 1k a day if theyre good and booked up
I have heard that rant, with lessening power, over the last 15 years or so. Right from when my older sister got her first tattoo, to when my younger brother got his first tatt done last year.
When I showed her my latest (August last year) she remained silent and then said that it wasn't for her in a very disapproving voice.
I have heard all those arguments about jobs also.
i have never had the guilt trip though--that sucks.
Sorry, i have to ask, yourmother wants you to get plastic surgery done? Most mothers wouldn't want their kids to go through that to change what they gave them. I don't know the situation, and i won't pry. It's your stroy to tell, and only tell it if you want, but if she does want you to get surgery to alter yourself, she can't really be upset about tattoos. I dunno, i don't get why parents get so mad about tattoos. It's not like you're going to get your forehead tattooed with the word wanker on. Cuz that would be silly. Please don't do that.
Dude.... mums are like that all round huh? Mine always said to me there were three things she would never approve of me doing;
1/ Drugs ( as in Drugs are bad, mmkay?! )
2/ No riding motor bikes..... and,
3/ NO TATTOO'S..
It's a pity because everytime I get all fucked up ( re #1 ) I call Mum and we talk for ages. I have never ridden a motor bike- not solo anyway. Not cause I'm 'not allowed', just haven't. And when I got my first tattoo, I showed it to her straight away and she was proud of me- it was my family's coat of arms with my nephew's name under it ( he died in a car accident so me and my older borther and sister all got the same tat ). She wasn't quite so approving of the following six but can now at least appreciate them..... it just takes time!!
My old man was the same, he was a tattoo hater. Now though, like 12 years after I got my first ( the coat of arms ) he's just gone and got his second one done- at the ripe ol age of 67!!!
"She is always trying to force me to get plastic surgery," My god, I don't want to put her down obviously, because she's your mum, but this seems a little fucked up to me!! *hugs*
yup, pin up is the new black!! Have you seen the pin-up group in here? It's definately worth a look-see!!
Unfortunately I've now got about four designs I'm completely in love with but have to whittle them down to one favourite to adorn my back.... such a hard choice!!!!!
Right now in sculpture were working with metal. We just finished useing steel rods and were going to start useing sheet metal. Its a pain in the ass. Im a ceramics major, I prefer clay
