frontman:
wow dude - too bad ted wasnt a hot suicide girl [sigh]
thanks for the kudos on the writing. i would like to write - i even bought final draft. hahahah. maybe one day in between figuring out what superheroes should do when fighting evil.

speaking of which.. back to it i go.

fauxhawk:
I had to re-read that first sentence, twice! I missed the cold part. Oh my-o-my!

I'll talk to you later.

Oh and the answer to my quiz was they are all adopted. Somehow it's not as funny as I thought it was. I guess it's one of those jokes that only works in the moment.
anticus:
How many times do I have to tell you NOT to french Paula Abdul?
unique3:
haha. yeah I suppose thats right. I guess I'll get it cut because it's so static right now..I cant stand it!
but yeah I'll put up pics when I get it done...of course!

are you excited about leaving?
elisabeth:
Hehe, I love LA!! Sorry, couldn't resist the Randy reference.

I didn't have a bad experience with the show 'Alias', by any means, but I had a few laughs at the other background artists whose egos were bigger than most houses. Such is life.

Damn that Paula. So what's Simon Cowell like? This industry is so funny to me because I used to roll my eyes at nearly anyone who said they were in it. Guess I'm just a jaded native. wink

Ah well, I'm having a good time doing all this stuff, and I'll stop when it ceases being fun.

Feel better and have a great trip. Oh, and you've got some good tastes there. Do you also read any Stephenson, or Philip Pullman? If you read Wurtzel, did you get a chance to check out Lizzie Simon? Her autobiography is an interesting read. Dead Can Dance has been one of my faves since 1987. I stumbled upon a used import cassette of theirs that was over 10 bucks, which was unheard of back then. Figured if the cover was that great and it was that expensive, that it HAD to be good. Thank goodness I don't think the same way today. Thanks for "stopping" by. smile
frontman:
thanks for the invite! i'll let you know as the weekend gets closer. i might very well want to come..
so you liked my pain? yeah - its about fluid dynamics right now but whatever - we will defy reality for anyone. thats gotta be our next tagline.
cedar:
hello back!
that mixerman chronicles was interesting...i'm going to have to go back and read more later.
thanks for the link. biggrin

kiss
frontman:
so what do you know about audio stuff btw?
do you like tannoy speakers? i have a pair of tanny active monitors - not the high end just the reveals and i was thinking of getting a second pair - down here - since the first pair is in canada - and then i can just get a single since i have a tannoy sub and then i can mix 5.1
but if they suck in the audio post world then i might as well think about something else.. ;-)

so. know anything about that?
fauxhawk:
Hey, buddy, thanks for the invitation, but as it stands now, Ill be buried in work. I actually was supposed to attend the GGs, but that notorious monkey with the wrench hunted me downI was also planning on joining the SGLA folks Saturday night, but thats also wishful thinking at this point.
unique3:
Hey how'd you know to call me J? hehe.

thanks! always thinkin of me eh? I'll check that article out!
drexel:
thanks for the compliments. wow sounds like a lot of fun stuff you've been doing. btw. if you ever get a bunch of bbc sitcoms on dvd as a gift from them or something and don't know what the hell to do with them cuz let's say you already have them or they send you 3 of everything, think of me cuz i'm sure i'll want them. smile i get so nostalgic about my times in england, and i swear they have the best tv shows EVER! anyway, i just walked in the house so i haven't had a chance to read that article you gave me the link to, but i will in a few. smile
drexel:
i've never lived there, just been there a few times, had a bf there for a year or so, and i just love it there so much. i'm always looking for good british pubs wherever i go, i watch british tv and films, buy british groceries, drink british tea. i'm not completely obsessed but there are certain things which i think the brits do best and those are the things i like. i found a 7-eleven in huntington beach that's owned by some guys from england and they have tons of british stuff there. which is cool for those 4 am british grocery emergencies. they happen, you know.
drexel:
god owsley, i'm the only person i know who's even HEARD of him let alone really likes him. that's crazy. and glengary glen ross...i love that movie. you have good taste in lots of things up there. ok, what were we talking about? oh yeah...late night cravings runs. lol. yeah pg tips...that's the best tea in the universe i think. i've gotten all my friends and roommates completely hooked. they're all like "erica will you please make some tea that way that only you know how?" followed by the pouty pweeeeez face. i'm a sucker. i don't know when the hell i'll make it back to england to be honest, which makes me sad actually. but anyway, if you let me know before you go i'll give ya my list. it will be very small stupid shit from the grocery store, but just stuff i LOVE. did you happen to notice when you were there how CHEAP the groceries were there? gas is way more, rent's about the same but food shopping OMG it's cheap. anyway...keep me posted on your exciting haps in life and any must see films as well. thanks. kiss
cineman:
Damn, I need some sleep: I'm posting in my own journal by accident!

[Edited on Jan 22, 2004 11:42PM]
drexel:
crazy! u KNOW him? damn! i just happened to listen to a cd in the listening booth at tower a couple years ago and it was weird. i know you'll think i'm a complete freak but fuck it. i very completely believe in reincarnation, and i believe that if you don't fulfill your purpose in one lifetime you somehow continue it in the next lifetime. like james dean was huge and hot and died in a car crash. and i think that could be brad pitt. just my own wacky theories....but check it out sometime. watch an old james dean film and then look at how similar his mannerisms and facial gestures are to brad pitt's. it's trippy when you do it. and then i heard owsley and looked at him and read the liner notes and saw his age and i went "hey! that could be john lennon!" well...anyway, no matter who the fuck he was or is, i think he's really talented. that guy can write a song just fucking around in his living room that just sounds like a perfect song. ok enuf. i live in tustin. and now i'm going to sleep...in tustin. gnite. smile
drexel:
haha, i was gonna stalk him too until i read his bio and "found out" he was like 23 or something. too bad for him. wink
drexel:
i know i'm tired when i'm posting messages to you on my own page. damn it, i hate when i do that. ok ctrl c/ctrl v...

i AM going to bed, right after this. jesus...i hate going to bed. and i hate waking up. no, always date younger guys. i was just thinking that 22-23 was a bit too young, even for me. i have some kind of imaginary line that isn't very solid. like if the number's too low they better not look that young and if the number's high they better look young, i don't know. the main thing is that i can't have any attention on it. the number isn't nearly as important as whether it's noticeable to me that we are very different ages, either in looks or in attitude. it's never really been a problem tho since most people think i look really young, and i guess i do. ok NOW i'm going to bed, and don't you try and stop me.
ps: glad you like the painting. smile
sirenblu7:
Thank you for popping in on my journal, actualy im a hairdresser all though i do occasionaly play around in makeup for photo shoots.
id give you a testimonial allthough i do not know you and im not exactly one to blow falsfied sunshine up anyone's ass...
anyways you have a good day.
wink
drexel:
yes fine, you're younger. shut up. tongue
evanx:
Here's some more purple for ya!
drexel:
yes that's true, crazy points overpower beauty points. i've met guys who were just perfect as long as they never said or did anything and just stood there looking good. but that doesn't carry me too long. lol. i feel that way about david beckham. he's beautiful until he starts talking. lol
evanx:
Oh...it's going...

I am gonna go rent a movie (or two). Any suggestions for a recent release??

I was thinking about Swimming Pool....

evanx:
Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately, the "alt" video stores are all downtown, and I didn't want to drive across town in the snowy weather at rush hour. Especially since Hollywood Video is right across the street.

Anyway, I chose the double feature of Lost In La Mancha and Swimming Pool.

I just finished Lost In La Mancha. Unbelievable...that's all I can say... I can't help but feel bad for everyone involved with that movie. Hopefully "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" gets finished...somehow..... But yea, great movie. (If there's anything I love more than movies, it's movies about movies!!!))

Well, off to watch Swimming Pool!
evanx:
OK, just finished Swimming Pool. Nice. Very subtle, just the way I like it. Plus there is a healthy amount of nudity, can't go wrong with that! wink But seriously, very good film. It's so much more rewarding to watch a movie and not feel like the filmmakers are talking down to you the whole time. Better to be given little bits & pieces and let the viewer figure it out/draw conclusions.

(I hope that made sense, I'm tired)

Good night!!!!
fauxhawk:
Yeah, long hours can be tough, but as long as the work's fun I don't mind it. It's when work feels like torture it's that I start counting the seconds... Let me know how things go.
