So, imagine at some point in the day that you feel at your most vulnerable. The demons are outside, knocking at your door wanting to set up shop in your mind. You know that the cause is out in the world, hovering just beyond your grasp. Milton says the real hell isnt a lake of fire or brimstone or a devil poking you with a pitch fork; its being beyond Gods sight. God sees time, space, and every moment, but he doesnt see you because he chooses not to. That is Hell.
Imagine you are in that special kind of Hell and you can feel the demons of your regret, your sadness, and your emptiness in your peripheral vision. You can feel them griping your templesthey make your heart beat faster and your vision blurry. Alcohol makes them more sinister, drugs make them more destructive.
And in walks She, like a Roman goddess shielded. Her sway distracts you and her eyes see what is behind youthe peripheral vision becomes unified. Her grace is like wind shifting and her mind sees how things truly ought to be.
And then she wraps her arms around you and you loose a sense of continuity.
I need an exorcism and I think Ive found my priest.
