In all seriousness though, fuck that scenario. I work nightshift, and often see car stranded on the side of the road at night. Even only a few kilometers out from the city, tough shit, you're on your own unless it's on fire. Glad they decided whatever they were planning wasn't worth it o.O

@ivylina I think the clerk was involved. That's why I never went back inside. It was too much of a risk and I wanted to get out of there in one piece.

Having confronted two different burglars as a civilian and a number of citizens whilst a cop... you did the right thing--except maybe just taking a leak on the side of the road!   I had a friend who tried to run and ended up spending several months in hospital, bereft of his guitar gear and unwilling to cross the Mason Dixon line ever again. (this happened in Alabama, he was from New Jersey)
