just remember, that civilizations fall and rise. that is the way of nature. out of any death comes new life. gautier can only be credited w/ an insightful comment because civilizations had ended over and over and over before his time, and history shows a trend towards his conclusion. even if our civilization ends, a new one will rise. that is exciting. that is beautiful.
