I've had a day of annoying little annoyances, the kind that you can't even make a Journal of... fortunately, we have New Orleans and the price of gas to put small annoyances in perspective... but I'm sad to say the A/C here has broken down for the second time in a week. Right now, I'm doing the only sensible thing in response to all these annoyances... no, not masturbating. That might be okay too, but no- I'm drinking, drinking bourbon in a speedy manner.

It's interesting that Antimony mentioned being covered with bug bites a couple weeks ago. Just watering the garden a couple times in sandals, and biking a bit, in the past week I've been bit so many times it's like I have smallpox below my knees. What is it with Virginian bugs and the end of August???

Spelling facts- the Irish and Canadians spell it "whisky," while Americans and Irish spell it "whiskey," except for some weirdos in the US like Maker's Mark. Dunno why, but the term comes from the Gaelic uisge beatha or uisgebaugh, which means "the water of life."
Also- the only musical instrument of American origin is the banjo, which was influenced by African instruments but Joel Walker of Virginia created the modern instrument with the 5-string arrangement.
