so .... whats the difference?

so heres what I am trying to figure what is the difference beetween being polyamorous and dating ? i am getting all kinds of messages from people thinking I am strange and wierd , granted I am but ,,,,,
So here is my opinion of all this , when you are poly basically you are with multiple people and love one another the difference is you are honest . You know about each others lovers and you even have events , play parties where you get all the lovers together for one large sex fest. There is no jealousy, no possesiveness , no control unless it is in the sense of bondage and discipline and you all love one another truly caring what happens to you and the people you are close to. You create a community of caring and love that exists outside the common "scenes" that exist in society.
so here we are and we are dating , but you dont want to tell other people that you are dating others because you want them to think , they are the only one or that they just dont want or need to know about one another. HOW dishonest is that?
at least when you are poly you are honest and open and you dont hurt each other and you dont use people for your own special means. your heart is still involved you just happen to be in love with a group of people thats all ....
and here is another thing at least going into things even if it is casual sex at least we know what we are out for and we understand it and respect it. and we all know that if the right magickal person came along that we would and will become monogamous again , but that right person would most likely be or become poly
so I would like to see some opinions on this in my comment page what do my friends think?
