Huh. The calendar is pretty rad. Are you new to DC, or just to SGDC?

Doesn't that question only help you if you've already established that *I'm* cool?

Actually, full disclosure, I may not be the 100% best person to ask. I've lived in DC for a few years before joining up (so I tend to have my own clique already) and I've been busy this past year scrambling to finish up my Ph.D., so I've only hung out with the SGDC folks a few times. But that aside, the ones I've met seem like pretty stand-up folks, and I've had fun with them.

If you haven't already, you may want to also check out the people in SGVA (though their events tend to be a bit far afield from the metro DC area) and SG Charm City (Baltimore).
