Because the chemicals in the kitty litter can cause birth defects. The only reason I know is because my mom tried to make my sister clean the kitty litter box when she was pregnant because it was her cat. My sister told my mom she couldnt and my mom didnt believe her so she called the doctor to prove it. It was an interesting situation!
