Hello lovelies! Still playing catch up with my blog homework (a quick one before I go to work!).
Here is my blog homework from 10/12: Have you ever been to a haunted place?
My answer is....Yes! A few actually!
I'll start with one said to be haunted, but I didn't really get a vibe about that:
Eastern State Penitentiary - Philadelphia, PA
I had gone on a tour here and while I will admit it was a bit eerie, I didn't get a vibe it was haunted. But it was in the daytime and nighttime is a different story......
Next is Henryton Hospital in Marriottsville, MD (private property and hospital has since been torn down)
So Henryton has since been torn down (vandalism, decaying structure, it has asbestos in it...sad but it had to happen). Prior to it being torn down though, I had a chance to see it. I have no doubt this place was haunted....I got no good vibes, very creepy and just scary. It would have made some money as a haunted attraction, but it was at one time I believe a tuberculosis hospital....so there is some education behind it as well (like Eastern State Penitentiary).
Last is Farnsworth House Inn in Gettysburg, PA
This one is haunted. No doubt in my mind. My husband, best friend and her husband stayed here in 2010. We stayed in the Belle Boyd room. We went on a ghost tour of the house and heard stories about the spirits haunting the inn. One spirit was a caregiver who, when she visited, people smelled flowers and any aches they had or minor illnesses disappeared. My husband had complained his back had been hurting him all day and at night. When we went to bed, at one point I smelled flowers. I wanted to open my eyes, but I chickened out. I thought holy crap.....that one spirit is here!!! The next morning my husband woke up, his back was better! It was definitely weird and in each room there is a book to write any encounters or comments you have.....needless to say, that one went in there!
