I'm vegan, and I think those three were totally out of line. Fuck, I HATE people like that. My husband eats meat, and sometimes I cook it for him. We are all adults and make our own choices. It's one thing to educate, another to preach. All they succeed in doing is making people hate vegans. I waited two years to go vegan just because I didn't want to be associated with such righteous assholes.
We could go to the beach in Netherlands or Germany at least for a few days but I am rather the type who talks a walk near the sea or sits at the beach reading a book - I am a quite beachperson if that is alright for you
I know vegans who are not that agressive but you are right that regretfully more than a few can get close to kill humans in the protection of animals and the spreading of their world view
Speaking about killing for a cause: I already wondered who Jhonny Depp did kill for the part of Captain Sparrow... that character is an actor's dream!
I wish I lived closer. I would fully go to the beach. I am full on irish so the sun is not my friend but I love the water so that's where I would be. You might be able to co-erce me into a game of volleyball.
As for that crazy vegan though, she is seriously misinformed. I mean technically dairy isn't properly digestable by humans but that is beside the point. I have worked on more than a couple dairy farms and they are fed and treated very well. They also have large meadows to "frolic" in. Furthermore unless that lady has never taken public transit, ridden a bicycle with a "non vegan friendly" tread or any other of a million other examples, she really has no grounds on her holier than thou attitude. I guess everyone feels the need to be an asshole about something from time to time (myself included) but that vegan shit gets old really fast. I have so many friends who pull that shit, and need to learn respect for other people's beliefs.
Ha sorry I guess this sort of turned into a rant, but thank you for the platform to vent.

One day my mother bought live crabs and brought them home. They were still alive when she told me to place them in the fridge. I was nauseated by having to...kill them that way but it was better than boiling them alive.
Since then i have considered going vegan. When i escape my meat eating family.
