my most recent dream was that i got fired from my job for posing nude in a magazine which was apparantly against company policy. i was so upset about losing my job because i really liked working there and the high gross out factor. i thought it was wierd because i don't really like my job so much.
i think i might have been disappointed about only getting $10 for the painting, but i'm no artist, and i have debt too.
disdain:
oooh....
paintedbat:
I think your dream mean you're going to die in 4 days by a jar of pennies falling on your head
laine666:
im working til ten, then i'll probably just lay around and feel bad for myself... whatever
give me a call tomorrow, i may feel like hanging out.
disdain:
jism, yes. 'tis a sarah and sarah joke. betcha wish you were a sarah.
we could call you sarah & then explain some things to you. but that would involve a complete overhaul in the way you view the world... otherwise you'd never understand. only real sarahs understand.
disdain:
... short men freak me out too. but i like to fuck people who freak me out.
laine666:
whats new pussycat? woahohohhhh
laine666:
shocked

(responding to your post in my journal)

you're not entirely missing the point- just overlooking it. actually, thinking men's studies would be about hunting, sports, fishing etc. is just proving the point even more. such as: why do you consider those things as "male" activities? they are considered masculine and automatically ascribed to you as a male. it's all about socialization and gender roles constructed by larger social structures (religion, capitalism, education, media)...women's studies (contrary to popular belief) is not about JUST women. that is why it's often called "gender studies" because it regards masculinity as equally important. also, gender is not equivalent to biological sex.

basically, you'd talk about the same things in "men's studies" as you would in a WS course: patriarchy, inequality, male privilage, white privilage, history, biology, social darwinism, stratification, theory, economics etc. eeek
disdain:
you freak me out a little.
laine666:
i didn't hear it ring...

laine666:

i find it best to not get too creative. really, i like ramen for the sodium. heh.
inkncarrots:
That is a crazy dream. No I haven't gotten my teeth out yet. They aren't bothering me at the moment so I am thinking of waiting it out until I graduate in May and hoping I find a job that has dental coverage. I'm such a procrastinator. wink
laine666:
yeah, maybe... i dunno. i get pretty reclusive when i feel the way i do now. new meds next week. got a doctors appt.
laine666:
oh yeah and if i am not what i think i am, then what am i?
inkncarrots:
No insurance, huh. I hate that. I have to be really damn sick before I go into the doctor's office because there is nothing worse than going and spending all that money just to have them tell you that you have a cold and nothing else. Grrrr.
