*groan* Well, the day is finally here...going into work! I didn't sleep well last night at all. I didn't really feel nervous or even think about the job at the time, but now I'm in a state of panic. The whole "what did I get myself into?!" thing is setting in. Fortunately, I only have orientation today...health insurance plans...401k...see my new office...get my computer set up...stuff like that.

I have a feeling that I'll have to kick into turbo gear tomorrow on though. Not only do I have to "hit the ground running", but I also need to impress my new boss and co-workers. I'm a member of middle management, so I'm at least buffered from the "suits", but I have a feeling they'll be keeping a close eye on me for awhile.

I'm making a big deal out of nothing, I guess...but just can't shake the stress.

Last night I decided to treat myself to an icy cold Stella Artois, but when I popped the top off, half the bottle neck came off with it, of course making a deep gash in my left middle finger. I'm a lefty too, so every time I write or grab something, I'll be flipping people off. It just goes to prove that forces are out to get me...and before my insurance kicks in at that!

Well, it's time I wrapped up. Tomorrow's update will likely have more substance...I'm just too distracted mentally these days. At least the awesome CA weather is back...too bad it was shitty and rainy the whole weekend.
