It's funny [not laugh funny but odd funny] about the clowns and coulrophobia - - Spawn's best friend is totally afflicted with this, also from watching It too young I think. Now they watch this movie All-The-Time, and laugh at it.
She still freaks out when she sees any other clown though.
I thought Stephen King's It (book AND movie) was dreadfully boring. That said, I also always found Tim Curry's clown to be satisfyingly terrifying, so I can understand your subsequent aversion to clowns.
Speaking of Tim Curry, have you ever seen the movie Pass The Ammo? It's a great send-up of televangelism in the 80's, starring Curry and Bill Paxton. It's my second favorite Tim Curry performance (after Dr. Frank-N-Furter).

And I, too, have a mad, mad, mad crush on Deborah Ann Woll. Is it getting hot in here? Wowzers. She is my favorite part of True Blood. (Not just because she's drop dead gorgeous; I also really love her character's storyline).
Good luck finding Pass the Ammo. It's never been released on DVD and I imagine even VHS copies would be hard to track down now (who even owns VCRs anymore, anyway!). Fortunately, some kind soul has posted the movie (in several parts) on YouTube. If you're so inclined, here's part 1:
