'an embrace' timothy r gates, 4/21/2008
...an embrace
is an embrace,
sometimes not ready
sometimes not steady
here better steady your brace,
a rhyme not usually my genre,
but here as i linger in these arms
i care not if it's life,
or death;
it is now,
and here i suspend the rhyme,
life and death,
Dante's Beatrice embraced
is at our eternal present
and i have no need for being braced,
this kiss is what matters:
now.
'Willow' timothy r gates, 4/21/2008
not a tune
a painting
a missive
looking away
but not
reclusive, in
a pensive demure,
a near smile
teases,
recalling, swinging
under the willow tree,
viewing her sway in the breeze,
looking up, to behold
the embrace from that swing,
then,
she can do no less than smile
this one,
sways like the,
here no amnesia,
willow,
but with
roses in her limbs.
