wonderful weekend with only a few snafus.
saturday i went to see forty watt bulb in mankato minnesota, about 80 miles s.w. of minneapolis. best time. i took my new room mate kelly and we partied it up. on the way home at 3:30 am i fell asleep at the wheel and was shaken awake to find us careening through the center median and ditch going 70 miles per hour. i calmly regained control, got us back on the road and then pulled over to puke up the adrenalin. sunday i went to the most bee-yoo-ti-ful country wedding. vows exchanged on horseback. the whole wedding party was on horseback. i had never seen anything like that. made me nostalgic. kinda made me sad...
you know what though? something else happened saturday night, i got my nutsack back. that was scary fucking shit and it tripped off something in my brain. life is a short affair, if you are unhappy, do something about it!! i've been compromising my integrity, keeping my lips closed, taking things in stride when i should have kicked them in the ass. no more. i am not going to allow anyone to make me feel less important again. been down that road before. i have so much to offer in my heart and soul that i will accept nothing less than what i am willing to give, from anyone.
today is my oldest son's birthday, he will be 16. crazy to think that this young man was once my baby boy, i suppose all parents go through these things. yesterday the men in my life (my sons) gathered in the sun and washed my car. playing in the suds and spraying each other with the hose, i smiled and realized how goddamn lucky i really am. those boys and i have been through a lot and we have always been together. it isn't always the easiest but we have each other. lovely. i'm telling you guys, that ditch ride shook the stratum of my being. i feel reborn.
well, i'm off work today because the criminal justice system gave my son a subpoena to testify for his birthday. i have a friend coming in from out of town as well, i hate going to the airport...
hope everyone has a beautius day.
