Random writings... Good times...
I look down as my foot swings forward and I begin to take the first steps, destination seemingly unknown ...anywhere but here. As my foot hits the ground I feel the cold wet concrete already starting to rub my feet raw, I guess she was right, I should have worn shoes. In those first steps I knew this would be a difficult journey, if not only because the only protection my feet had was the skin I was born in.
This fact is only further reinforced when I begin to raise my head, simply trying to get a view of where my next step will fall and upon doing this I feel my footing slip and I start to tumble. The funniest of thoughts ran threw my mind as I head face first into that cold concrete. "I wonder if it was that last step that caused this, or was it me looking up ...shouldn't have looked up". My body makes an odd thud as it makes contact with the ground.
I guess it was a combination of the concrete being in its current hydrated status and the fact that I didn't embrace for the impact in the slightest. Never the less, my body slammed down with that odd thud and I just decided to stay there waiting to move ...just wondering if I should continue my journey seeing how I have had such a turbulent first few steps. I must have stayed there along while, contorted awkwardly, and pondering.
After what seemed to be an eternity I came to a conclusion ...sure this wouldn't be the most fun I have ever had, but it was still something to pass the dilatory time with. Hell, who knows ...I may wind up enjoying the place I arrive at more then the place I'm leaving. I honestly do know that anything is better then staying in this uncomfortable position.
