i find a general understanding is all anyone ever needs 90% of the time. even when doing something specialized...you know what you need to do, and as long as you have a general idea of where what you are doing fits into the big picture you're usually all set. a roofer might not be able to build a house, but he understands how one is built. and he knows how his piece of the house fits in to the mix and how its important. and thats all he needs to know. its a real shame that more things arent presented that way
fatkidlovescake:
i feel like thats how a lot of the better teachers out there present it. start with the general idea and then work into the big picture...unfortunately i've had a lot of teachers work it by just presenting a lot of little intricate parts and then telling you how they all go together after...but i feel its better to know the big picture first. so when you come the the more in depth parts you understand how it all fits and works.
fatkidlovescake:
excellent teachers are indeed a rare commodity, everywhere. i've just been fairly lucky over the years.
fatkidlovescake:
thats funny, i want to go back to school to become a teacher! part of the reason i am joining the national guard is so they'll pay for me to go back to school

Your blog is not letting me comment. But. I say since you're on a Stephen King roll (well, of one at least...) that you should do "The Shining". biggrin
lusyd:
That's a pretty good choice actually smile The bangles had the misfortune of just being too poppy right out of the gate so when their sound wasn't the same on every song they kind of god overlooked
fatkidlovescake:
