It's pretty nice here in Peterborough today. Still chilly, but sunny. I have been in that winter funk for a while...as most of us are, I suppose. I got a bike last week (some fucker stole my bike right outta my back yard last fall, if you can believe that), so, I'm fucking happy. Simple things....
I can't wait for summer. Last year, I attended summer school. I would ride my bike everyday. There's a paved bike path that leads straight to it. By mid-summer, the lilac bushes which line the path exploded. Fantastic. I would ride home after class at dusk...the smell of lilacs was thick and warm.
I am hoping to do that again this year.
It's my mother's birthday on Friday, so I have to get a card. She has had a rough go of it for the past couple years, so I think I'll opt for a mushy card instead of a funny one. Something with hearts or something. Or perhaps something inspirational (?) I dunno. I keep telling her life can only get better once you get down so low, but I wonder about that as I say it.
