Rambutan
is a small red fruit with soft spines all over that is related to, and tastes like, the lychee that you get in Chinese desserts. Rambutans are from Southeast Asia. I lived in Thailand and developed a taste for them. I get them in the grocery fresh or canned.
Good morning, sweet sylvan. Tuesday just for you, mon favorite SG sweetie.
Edited to add: Don't feel old, feel new. All your cells have regenerated and changed and so have your perceptions and your experiences. Relish this and take care of yourself. All the rest is merely the passage of time. Nothing to do but accept Time's endless caress . . . you are wonderful and only going to get lovelier with each passing day. *hugs*
I had a long weekend, which was sweet. Got oodles and gobs of stuff done (mostly because I put myself on computer lock down). Stupid obsessive tendencies!

ah photo books. you should see my bookcases here, they are full. i love books, espeically photo books. so...
if you want the bible of all things photographic, 'Photography' by Horenstien and Hart is great. it is the basic text all years use at ryerson. it has everything for analogue and digital, and is fairly reader friendly. if you want something a little less... big, i would say anything by john hedgecoe. he has a few books out, all of them are good. i have his black and white guide, but i think he's come out with a 'complete' guide to everything, definately worth checking out.
also, if you have any decent used book stores around you, time life came out with a series of books in the 70s and then rereleased them in the 80s i think. they are excellent. the actual books are grey hardcover and i think there are about 10 or so in the series. they really get back to the basics of photography, the prints in them are amazing, and they are so easy to read. really worth the hunt. i got 8 of them for $10 at a library sale. i lug them with me everywhere.
anyway, hope that helps. i'm all about getting people into (or back into) the photo way of things. the more people who know what an fstop is, the better.
