This Dissolution book isnt by Salvatore, nor does it have Drizzt in it (this was my main motivation for getting it).

I agree though on Salvatore.

FG is decent, but I am sick of Elminster (or some random sassy main character) talking trash to deities and then proceeding to save the world.

That silly Wheel of Time series is at book 10. One every two years or so.

I started them in '92 when 3 of the books were out. Now its like a bad relationship

I make up little songs, which I sing while cleaning or cooking or whatever. One of the house favorites is a little tune we call, "Rub garlic on". (This is especially ironic as my boy hates musicals, but by living with me, he is living in a musical all the time! Slightly evil teehee!)

Edited to add: I do have a phobia, which I have been working on curing for the past year. I'm terrified of driving anywhere that I haven't been before. I completely freeze up. For years, I couldn't drive anywhere at all, but I'm slowly getting more mobile.

Because answering qquestions is fun. It shows that you are curious about your journal fans and admirers. (plus think of how it raises your comment count.)

Oh yes, of course. What sort of self-respecting geek would I be otherwise? I have read almost all of the old Dragonlance stuff, and the books on Huma and Kaz.

Havent read a whole lot of discworld stuff, but I have read some other Terry Pratchett stuff. I really enjoy absurdist humor.

My favorite fantasy series of all time though is Guardians of the Flame.

a. I have an unnatural fear of being alone in the dark in a house. I tend to plan it out so I can have lights on the whole way to bed. Its not crippling, just annoying

Tech support isnt that bad. Its probably the best job I've ever had, but it does get a little draining. The people I work with are super cool tho, and we tend to liven things up.

Guardians of the Flame is about a group of college kids who essentially are tricked into helping a banished wizard. He is their DM, and he sends them to his world, to figure out how to free him. They arrive in the form of their characters. Pretty awesome stuff. The first three or four books were good, but then it goes downhill as all series that try to hang on too long.

a) this is a really personal one... or at least it could be. We're supposed to be honest, right? Um... I hate going to the barber so much that I cut my hair myself. (I don't like strangers waving sharp things near my head, I guess.)

The story about the old man and the bus is great. It is sometimes hard for us to remember that not all people are bastards. Just most of them.

a. tell me about a quirk of yours (phobia, worry, personal oddity, etc.) - Ugh. I have so many. Phobias: Heights, spiders, drowning/water, small spaces. Worries? hmmm...will i ever succeed at anything? Personal oddities: None anymore really but back when i was suffering from mental problems i was extremely paranoid.

b. word association: electron - Blaster! Sorry, i'm a comic book geek.

c. what one thing would you like to be able to do really well? - Math or anything that is useful in an everyday real world sense. I'm an artist and a dreamer, neither of which have ever paid very well.

d. why should i keep giving you questions to answer? - 'Cause if you don't i'll have to hold you down and tickle you 'til you pee yourself.
