I haven't heard the speech yet, Bee; but I can tell you that I am so burnt out on Politics in general that I am verging on losing my faith entirely. I realized today that the payroll for the house and senate alone, not including their staffers is $120,000,000 per year. That's the combined payroll of 535 people. Ugh!
bee:
politics and faith have no land together.
zetamale:
Looks interesting. I've been looking for new podcasts. Do you have any others you'd like to recommend?
shoegazerbrett:
double woof on that
noone:
fact of the matter is
nobody knows how it is going to affect the nation
six months from now.

welcome to uncharted waters, baby.
population: you.
tommyrocket:
i agree with the bee.
sofreshsoclean:
i dunno - i think that speech was only supposed to be about the economy and get repubs off his back for vociferously opposing the stimulus. i'm confused by the iraq/afghanistan stuff too, but sorta willing to give him the benefit of the doubt seeing as he's only been on the job for a month. talking to some soldiers who have served over in both countries, a quick departure might be the worst thing ever.

anyway...

bee:
i am not confused by the war, rather confused with the new occupation area. its a part of afghanistan/ pakistan boarder we have never had good control of. in his address i wanted to hear him talk to the families of troops. letting us know that our family and the families of the pakistan/afghanistan peoples are in mind.

in this case i feel a little goes a long way.
