Sunday was race day. If you read Shabs blog then you already know. Yes, in a 5 km race I had to stop and pee. So on race day I get nervous peeing. I pee a million times before a race. I didn't think I had time to pee before the race, unless I wanted to do it with 200 people watching me crouching in a muddy ditch. I actually comtemplated having my 11 yr old niece stand in front of me to block the view, but then it was time to race. Thought it would be ok, you start running, and usually the feeling goes away. Apparently it wasn't just nerves. The bitch is that with less than a km to go I had to go, and I mean HAD to go. It was either stop and pee or pee my pants, there was no holding it, even for the last 4 min I had to go.
So I stopped and peed. My sister in law was a bit behind me and she told me after she was wondering what the hell I was doing, then she saw me pee! haha.
So the girl I had just caught up to and passed got ahead of me, I ran my butt off to catch her again, but she got ahead of me just at the end, and she ended up getting the third place for women. However, I got 4th place for all the women in the race, 23rd out of 200 or so racers, and first place in my age. Got a cool metal. It is a stone they found on the beach that was the finish line, and handpainted with the race logo.

Shabs of course kicked ass in the 1/2 marathon - 5th place overall!! He is retardedly fast. Seriously. I don't know how he does it.

Looking forward to the next race, it will be my first duathlon. Then it is time to train for my first marathon. Year of firsts I guess
