Last night was fun, although it was like pulling teeth to get us out of the house. I swear, this place has a vicelike grip on both of us.

We were a tad late to the show at the Roseland, but we caught most of the Forty-Fives' set, and we got to chat with my friend Trey, who plays keyboards for them. We stuck around for the Detroit Cobras, hypnotized by the lead singer's (Rachael?) ass, as she never stopped slowly swaying rhythmically to the music. Adorable.

We took off before the Rev. Horton Heat, as I've seen them a few times and their show never ever changes. We tried to convince Trey to come with us to Pirate, but he had to stick around and sell merch and get paid and all of that crucial shit when you're a band. So we said goodbye and left the lovely coolness of the Roseland for the still mildly sweltering outdoors.

As always, Pirate was fun. A ton of people showed up, and even though I was sweating my ass off all night, I had a great time. We left very late, slept in until about 20 minutes ago, and now I need to be productive and clean house and work out. Wish me luck that I don't just sit here in front of the computer and slack off some more.
