jody:
Good luck sweetie! When you get back we should hang out. smile
mingol:
Oho, so you'll be in my neck of the woods! But not close enough for me to be able to extend you any hospitality, unfortunately. Oh well.

Glad to hear that you're getting things sorted and feeling better. Enjoy your holiday!
furious1:
I wish you well
tororo:
Just read your last two posts... and had a feeling that you probably did the right thing. Also, in my personal experience, it's not drinking cure-all drinks that makes one feel better, it's having somebody near that cares if you drink it. So hug your mother for me.
And have the nicest trip!
beledi:
I hope your trip is wonderful and helps you sort stuff out. smile I'm sure you'll figure things out when you come back too. Sometimes you just need some time to sit back and relax.

I'm on Effexor, and hopefully it won't be too long. The side effects scare me some...

The effects of untreated depression are worse. Good luck.

freakpirate:
Take care of yourself okay?
I miss hanging out with you guys. My video games have not been stressful enough or angry enough without you.

nocturnalist:
Sounds like you've got some good people around you. So good to hear that you're coming back up again. You're going to come out of this better, happier, stronger and ready to kick arse.

Look after yourself, and remember to keep us posted. Good news or bad, we're ready to listen, and to tell you you rock.
drnecessitor:
Beachtime in the Phillipines sounds good to me! Enjoy yourself kiss
opticnerve:
There's nothing like blowing up some Locust Horde drones to cheer one up. biggrin
opticnerve:
Yeah, tell me about it. It's so good that I wish that I had worked on it.

Congrats on quitting your job! Sounds like it's a good move for you. I feel like I'm still recovering from my last case of burnout from several years ago. Totally not worth it.

Sorry you're suffering from depression. It's a nasty fuckin' illness. I know I'm still recovering from my last severe bout with that shit. I did, however, recently get off of all of my meds, which has actually helped in some ways. They were certainly a necessary evil for a while, though. How much Effexor are you taking (if you don't mind telling me)? I was up at 450mg for a while, along with substantial doses of Wellbutrin and Adderall. Yuck. The good news is, it sounds like you are still interested in and excited about things (i.e. Gears of War). And although I'm with you in that I doubt that Xango stuff is the cure-all your mother seems to think it is, at least the fruit is probably good for ya'! biggrin

Hope you have a great time in the Philippines! Have a safe trip! kiss
12angrybadgers:
Oh good! So glad to hear you are feeling better! No job is worth killing yourself over (figuratively or literally). I had a pretty bad one several years back. Man, I was so glad to get away from that crap! How long are you planning to be overseas? Hope your trip proves to be therapeutic!
phoenix:
Wow, I can't believe that happened to you. I hope you feel better really soon. I'm sure a vacation will help a lot. I've been going through a similar phase with working too much. 3 jobs and part-time school is a little hectic. Reading your blog though, it makes me think that perhaps I should slow down a little bit more. Thanks for posting your troubles. I needed a wakeup call. smile
sanez:
Congrats on a road to recovery, sounds like it will be a good path for you and your family, and enjoy your time at the beach in the Phillipines.

I was just in the Phillipines about 3 months past, but for me it was 90% work and I only got one weekend out of Makati/Manila to see Tagatay which was really neat for no one that has been to that part of the world.

I am hoping to be back in the next 6 months, which a number of the people I was working with offered to take me to the beach on the next round. I went and got Scuba certified just incase.

Can't wait to hear about the venture.

Smiles

I'm on the effexor too and the side effects ARE scary, but I feel ten times better than I did before so I kinda try not to worry so much about it. hooray for you on quitting your job, though. I wish I had the willpower to do so with mine. miao!!
poseidon:
Glad you're feeling better.

I'm glad you are talking better care of yourself. Yeah, we all do things we think are silly to keep our moms from worrying at night. smile Enjoying your vacation. It sounds like you earned it. smile BTW, the Nintendo Wii and the New Zelda Game are amazing. smile Though Dead Rising is almost enough to make me get a 360. smile
12angrybadgers:
Holy shit, dude. I just saw the news out of the Philippines. eeek Hope you're safe!
geekgurl:
I was put on Effexor for a while. They also gave me a prescription for Ambian since sleeplessness is a common side effect
