Sorry about the viruses. I use Norton and I've had no trouble with viruses. I also recently was offered Trusteer by Bank of America, for free. I think it's specifically for protecting passwords. I used to have Spysweeper, too, but it's not really compatable with Vista, so I cancelled it. I've an Acer laptop.
Check to see if SG has a Computer Geek sort of group, and join it. They can probably recommend what to do to get rid of those viruses once and for all. Maybe even for free!

Have you taken it to the Geek Squad? They're quite geeky, and they may be able to assist ....
