And, re: music, what if a person has listened to a wide variety of stuff from all different types of music but just wasn't into it and likes just pop music? this is the story of my ex-girlfriend, and people were constantly giving her shit for it. But she was completely open to listening to different music....she just didn't like it. I don't think that means much about her personality, really.
But isn't what music is more "intricate" completely subjective? I may think someone doesn't have a true appreciation of music if they don't appreciate mozart, for example, because I find mozart to be much more intricate and deep than any music made today. But that's just my opinion, and I wouldn't think to judge anyone else's personality based on that.
But really what bothers me isn't people making judgements in the first place...we all make them, on different criteria. What bothers me is rejecting another person no matter how good their personality based on what music they listen to. Or what clothes they wear. Or what they think of Cassavettes.
