weird!
i'm staying home from work too!!
and i'm crancking through some design work w/o being constantly stopped and irritated.

and you know, sending you stuff was sooooooooo yesterday tongue .

p.s. we are at the level of familiarity at my workplace that we can take "depression/boredom" days off.

I haven't taken a day off without using a vacation day or it being an actual illness in years. And I have 12 sick days to use each year. I didn't use any last year. My ex and I called in sick together a couple of times.

i'm in to do some contract stuff, then as soon as arik arrives, i'm playing hooky too

there must be something in the air...

biggrin
ralphredimix:
I wish I could play hooky, but I've done it too much recently. I think that trying to make up an excuse is pretty lame - you're allocated sick days, so use them.

Whenever I call in sick I just tell them flat that I'm using a sick day and leave it at that. I never feel like I have to make some production to convince my boss that my illness is worthy enough for me to stay home.

Of course, I could be fired today.

"i'm in the middle of a nervous breakdown" usually works well for me in emergencies. other than that, i haven't called in sick in a long time. usually with my jobs it is my responsibility to find someone to cover my shift for me and that's more effort sometimes than actually going in. smile

when they ask, i always complain vaguely about a scratchy throat and aches.
