So I learned that the little old hammer that has been floating around in my tool box is a nineteenth century family heirloom!

Stephen Benson MADE the hammer and gave it to his Son
Samuel Benson when he was 14 who gave it to his Son
Thomas Benson who then gave it to his Son
Donald Benson who then gave it to his Son
Stephen Benson....me.

Some would say I have a tool fetish, but I come by it honestly.

I'm torn though.
It's at least 120 years old.
It was made to be lovingly used.
God! what if I lost it?
Would my 19th century namesake wish me to use it as it was meant or save it for the next man?

I think I know.
