You should come around more often...
acidevangelist:
Yeah, everything has been pretty chill.
frolleinsuzy:
I really love the pics from your art. Is there a special theme, can you explain what the concept behind? kiss
sydfloyd:
Your stuff looks way different than anything I remember you doing or saying that you were gonna do. I myself have taken a break from painting since January to record these songs. I'm ready to get back in the garage.
sydfloyd:
That's good. I thnk everyone should go through a phase where the stuff they're doing has that immediacy to it.
padre:
Yeah he's gonna be fine and I'm grateful for that. Thanks for the kind words and the hug smile

nopantsdave:
So, that whole movie quote thread in the film group has convinced me that you have outstanding taste in movies.
nopantsdave:
Does one really have to choose between having tons of free time and having amazing taste? Can't one have both?

I don't watch as many movies during the summer....that's when I listen to baseball and read way more than anyone should. The fall/winter/spring, though, lots'o'movies. I've a tendency to stick to the classics.
nopantsdave:
I love how you ask what else I am reading as if Moby Dick just isn't enough!

I usually have a few books going. often one novel and then a bunch of larger in scope things. Right now I am working my way slowly through the complete plays of George Bernard Shaw. I am also slowly plodding along with The Histories of Herodotus. Last night I read a couple of short stories by Angela Carter.....I think I may hate her though and I'm not sure how much more I will read.

And you? Anything on your plate?
nopantsdave:
I've never read any Moore, but I have heard of him. I don't know the others. You know, except for Burgess, who I worship slightly.

This weekend I finished The 39 Steps which the Hitchcock film is "based on"....wow, one of the worst book-to-film transfers I know of. They're barely alike. though, to be fair, they're both very good. I just rewatched 39 Steps last night just to see how different they are. I also finished up one called The Vatican Cellars by Andre Gide....it was alright. I recently read a collection of Dashiel Hammet novels, including The Thin Man....that finally lead me to seeing the movie after having meant to for many years. Good stuff all around. I don't really see how they could possibly have made sequels out of it, but I know they did.
nopantsdave:
But, what I don't get is that the man referred to as "the thin man" is dead in the first movie....so, how the hell are there sequels?
nopantsdave:
Well, duh....

Seriously, though, why not just call it something else!?! Before I read the book, I assumed Nick was the thin man....not so.

By the way, I just got an email from NetFlix that the final disc of the Jeeves and Wooster series is en route to me....rock!
