I have a course on Udemy that I started looking into awhile ago that I'm going to have another crack at now that I have an actual camera to play with :) @sammax93 your advice is always valued so I will definitely keep that in mind, thank you!
@phlegmon it's my mum's old Canon EOS1000D. I actually bought it when I was 17 but reneged on the payments so it became my mum's camera as Dad ended up paying for it, oopsie! Here it is, back with me 14 years later. My mum is a really good amateur photographer, she taught me how to take shots with a macro lens on her old Konika Minolta. I'm hoping I'll be able to get some different lenses for this one but they are expensive! Thank you for your compliment π
Hahaha that's a funny story! You're using it to its potential! It's never the equipment, always the photographer's skill. I hope you can get a nice macro lens for it and a decent tripod!
Although I have yet to find any in person, a tip for finding cheap lenses is to find old 35mm EOS film cameras w/ lenses. They are still compatible with the DSLRs. You might also have luck with vintage lenses from other manufacturers. They make adapters, it'll just function as a manual lens.
AWESOME!!! See, you're full of great advice!! @sammax93 thank you so much for the tips! I wish Mum had kept her old Minolta, Dad bought it for her 35-40 years ago and it was a great camera. She used it for well over 20 years
Oh that's awesome! @dtimm87 I'm going to have a better look on your page for some of your work! I've been using my phone to practice self-portraiture for the last 16 years hahaha
