I've been back in art selling mode. This is not good, it makes me unhappy and I start to despise art. I had been trying to paint just for the love of painting and for what I can learn from it, but, the trouble with that is you soon end up with more stuff than you can do anything with. Canvases do have the virtue that they can be painted over and reused (as the girl at http://tinyurl.com/mu6oypw is going to have done if she's not sold within about 2 months) but paper drawings and paintings don't have that advantage. I threw out a few of the lesser paper drawings -- anything I couldn't picture people wanting and that I'd never have use for. Paper drawings are hard to even give away, because they need to be framed to be properly displayed. I remember giving a bunch of my best drawings to family members a few ears ago for Christmas, and far as I know they've been tossed in a drawer or thrown away -- they were never seen again by me.
