If possible, please get this out to as many people as you can who are willing to take action. Most legit preachers will tell Blackwell what to go do with himself, but these fundie asshats will stoop to any low to politicize their pulpits.
1. most regional groups require you to wait til you have been here like 30 days or so, to get a feel for you, before letting you join. i do it that way as well, and i own both the Cleveland and OHIO groups.
2. in thost 30 days PLEASE check you the "Noobies Group". you are automaticly a mamber of it for you first 30 days on SG. it is VERY helpfull and will keep you from getting into trouble or looking foolish. that is why it is there. use it. (just click the GROUP button under your friends list and above your journal entry)
3. if you have any questions... ASK. most people here, you will see, are very helpfull and friendly
4. when replying to people who have commented on your journal, don't reply to them on YOUR journal (this is not LiveJournal.com, lol) click on thier name, and comment back to them on THIER journal.

There's a 200+ year history of American politicians both recruiting pastors and using their churches to further their political viewpoints, on both sides of the bandwagon.
It slowed down to some degree in the 70's and 80's, but Bill Clinton actually used churches (mostly in the south) just about every Sunday of his 96 campaign. It's been growing en vogue politically ever since.
And do you see me condoning the same behavior by Democrats, assuming this actually happened as you say it did? I think all politicians who use holy men and women for political whoring are despicable.
