i need a safe place to keep something very important. usually when this is an issue i will use a poly-bag, either modern-age sized or 12"x12".

i could use a safe, with a left-right-left lock and a key. it would be 10 cm thick, made of cold steel. but a safe like that is better for documents, or currency. beautiful things need a beautiful package. an ornate wooden box with velour insides, padded and cut-away, perfect size.

what if i lose it? what if it get's damaged? i'm pretty sure she doesn't have another one. i could give her mine, but it just wouldn't do. it doesn't work the same way, it doesn't have as much room, and it's often too cold.

when she asks for it back, it has to be just as it was. good as new. cared for and attended to, like a bonzai tree or powdered sea monkeys.

i have to keep it safe.

kopper:
i like the strongbox, although all my valubles are tied in a bag, and hung out of my window.. so goes life in the projects.

after my first night at "the mountainview motel" i drove to work past the hasty market 2 doors down.. it had been robbed about an hour earlier. and today as i was leaving work, the guard at the gate had me pop the trunk while he checked it out.. no body cavity search thankfully. so i guess these are my initial impressions of the steel city. that and a bunch of mall mutants that thoroughly frightened me.

i see you didn't make it to the bowling event either, or at least i didn't see any pictures of you in there.
