I worked as a grad assistant last year for a prof. who did some Anthropological interviews of people in the fishing industry in Grand Isle...she told me today that almost everything was destroyed but there were no fatalities as everyone was evacuated. She expressed concern to me regarding the fact that almost all concentration is on New Orleans and rural communities (such as Grand Isle) may be overlooked.
